Found myself as an old alum, anticipating the AAMB's perfomance tomorrow in the Macy's Parade. Quite an honor but one well deserved. Thought I would listen to some Boilermaker music while I worked this afternoon.

Wow ... I didn't remember that they even had movies in 1964. What a treat to see the old Band performing the first year of Slayter Center!

Great site. Marched two years 1968 and 1969. Largest and best band ever! Thanks for the preservation of these tapes.

Thank you for making it available for us to view the videos again. As an AAMB alumnus, I never get tired of watching the old shows. I cannot wait for the shows from the 70's to be available. I look forward to seeing the spoof shows again!!

I am very disappointed that I can no longer see videos of halftime shows that I was a part of. Alumni should be allowed to have access

FOR YEARS I HAVE BEEN INTERESTED IN THE PURDUE BAND AND THE BEST DAMN BAND IN THE LAND.BOILER UP

MICHAEL MC LEAN | Website | November 28, 2008, 12:29 pm

Being the parent of an out of state AAMB member, we are very disappointed that we will no longer be able to enjoy, view, or be a part of the Purdue Marching Band half time show experience any longer.

Stan Smolucha from Winfield, IL | Website | October 27, 2008, 8:13 pm

As a band alum, I concur with the great disappointment with the copyright issues that are keeping most of us from seeing the videos. I was looking forward to seeing the videos from my time in the band as well as those of my predecessors and successors.

Unfortunately, I have a feeling that the only way to resolve this is to somehow convince our legislators to pass more sensible copyright laws (e.g. shortening the term to something more reasonable, like 20 years from initial publication). However, I don't have any faith in this, since politicians of all stripes get lots of money from the RIAA and others to work in just the opposite manner. (Anyone who doubts this can contemplate when/if the Disney corporation will ever allow Mickey Mouse into the public domain.)

Erich Brandt from Ann Arbor, MI | Website | October 21, 2008, 9:40 am

I can't believe we can't watch the videos of the past! Being an alumni, I was so excited when this website was available. I'm pretty upset...is there anything we can do??

Susan Oslos | Website | October 18, 2008, 10:36 pm

June Lauer | Website | October 6, 2008, 2:45 pm

Just watched our grandson Ethan Hall swing dance during half time activities. Since we are so far away, we do not get to share in many college activities. Thanks for allowing us this opportunity.

Leslie Duplaga Twining from Pittsburgh, Pa | Website | October 3, 2008, 9:40 am

Our high school band went to Purdue Band Day and it was INCREDIBLE! Even our IU grad band director enjoyed himself. Not only did we have a blast playing out on the field during halftime, but we couldn't believe how great Purdue's marching band was/is - and what a game! It was a very good experience, giving everyone in our band an idea of where WE might be in the next few years, and what we can do with our musical talent. For anyone wondering what PBD is like, I'd highly recommend going, even if your band isn't out on the field and you're just watching from the stands.

Thank you so much for posting these great videos. There is an energy, and power (and talent!) that pours from this band that one just has to 'see' and 'hear' to get. The obvious hard work, dedication, and spirit are beyond impressive. I wish I could be there; but this is the next best thing. Thank you!!(Hi, Alex)

Hey Jeff! Looking good! I like the ratings feature for the videos. It reminds me a lot of YouTube and other popular video sites. Any chance that you could create a comments section for each video? I saw that a few had ratings of 3/10 (could the AAMB even deserve such a rating??) and was curious as to why they marked it as such.

James | Website | September 5, 2008, 5:32 pm
